Meh. So I read this in high school initially and loved it. Wanted to reread it to see if it hold up. Very meh. Not bad but not great either. I'm thinking it's because vol 1 is so focused on character introduction and exposition with nothing really happening except for Tamaki being annoying AF (twins as well a bit). Hoping it mellows out soon.

ALL RISE 🫡🫡🫡 ouran high school host club anime raised me (thank u abc 3 for exposing me to twincest at such a tender age) and now my beautiful sister has gifted me the manga box set it is time to return to the home land and reconnect myself with my beloved tamaki 💖💖💖💖 although i would die for all of them it’s true
i found it sort of confusing at first bc there is so much going on in every panel but i adapted and overcame extremely quickly i v much loved this even tho they eyes were a bit wonky every now and then that jus adds to the charm babey

What a delight it was to read this! Ouran High School Host Club was one of the first animes I truly loved, with our non-binary king Haruhi “I don’t give a fuck about gender” Fujioka. She was one of my first queer role models as a weird, gender non-conforming kid, and so it was amazing to revisit this story in manga format. It’s funny and light-hearted, but also warms my heart so many times. I specially like how, amid the jokes and funny moments, it manages to convey moments of sincerity and true emotional bonding with a few looks. Also, I love how Tamaki is just. Immediately whipped.
