Cute and light-hearted manga!

This is the first volume of Ouran High School Host Club and it introduces us to the characters involved in the story. I adore this just as much as the anime. Though I think the introduction to Haruhi's gender reveal per classmate was funnier and witty in the anime version. (Those lightbulbs! Genius!) It's fun to notice the differences though. I've read and watched it a few times over the years and it's still such a fun story, I recommend it!

A fun and fluffy shojo series that will keep you laughing.

1st reading: So many handwritten words! Well, I powered through but I mainly relied on my memory of reading the English translation and watching the anime for many of the plot points. At least, I can say that I got practice reading handwritten Japanese. :grinning:

I don't know. I just am not connecting with this manga. Maybe it's because I've been that poor, genderqueer scholarship student at an uber-rich private school, but I'm just finding the wealthy kids enraging instead of funny. I might give it one more volume to convince me to continue, but I'm not sure.

This is one of the only instances in which I read the manga before I actually watched the anime and I loved every second of reading this manga. Would recommend to any comedy fans with a soft spot for rich people satire.
