Re-reading this after having read most of the rest of the series, I like this book better than I did the first time around. It helps to already know everything that is going on so the huge amount of information isn't so overwhelming. This installment is still probably the weakest of the series, but that is often the case in the first of the series. There was just a little too much cliche "I love you" so quickly, blah blah blah. But still, I liked it. I love the Lords of the Underworld and the women that come into their lives!
I have mixed feelings about this book. For the most part it's good. I liked the plot and the lords themselves I just didn't like the romance and wish it had been developed a bit more instead of just being an insta romance true love kinda deal. Putting the badly done romance and the annoying girl character aside( she is really naiive) this is an interesting fun book and ill give the second one a try
I liked this okay. Read pretty quickly. I love the idea of pandora's box and each of the miserable demons these poor guys were stuck with. I wasn't totally buying Ashlyn and MAddox. I don't like it when things happen quite this quickly, harder to buy in. I can of course see why Maddox would be so taken with Ashlyn. I liked the side characters and definitely would like to read more in this world, will probably get back to this series at some point.
This is certainly my favorite of the LotU books. Something about Maddox...The rest pretty much follow the same pattern. What girl doesn't want to tame the 'demon' in a bad boy?? But, I love the combination of Greek Mythology and religion and fantasy, and the romance of it all. There are some really HOT scenes in there! Nice books for escapism.

I remember trying to read this book a couple years ago and didn't make it far. Not even to 30% if I remember correctly. I grew bored and put it down and never went back. Having recently picked it up again to give it another try from the beginning I'm understanding why that might've happened.
The story itself is fine. Interesting enough. The hero suitably angsty and broody. The other guys/demons also a little interesting as well. But the heroine? Hahahahahaha

Im giving this 2.5 stars. It was pretty bad. I didn't like how it all took place in a few days and how the main characters loved each other the moment they saw each other. Some of the dialogue was awful! Its really disappointing because I think the author had a great idea behind it all, if only she took the time to develop the story more. It all felt rushed and thrown together.
This book started out really strong for me, but has since lost its steam. 200+ pages in and the real action concerning the plot is just now starting. Also, normally when the POV changes throughout the book I usually don't mind and even welcome another perspective, but with this book I don't really care for the others characters. So when I hit these points I tend to just put the book down, which is why it is taking me so long for such an easy read.
Thankfully around the last 60 pages it picked back up a little for me. Although it was still kind of anti-climactic action wise, but the way it came together though a bit predictable was interesting.
Still not sure if I will continue to read the next in the series or not.
