Every single one of these books are amazing! I absolutely love this author and how she brings Greek mythology into a love story and a struggle with your inner demons. I have read tons of books but none of the compare to this series. I'm just dying waiting here for the next one! I recommend this book to adults because, yes, it is a little sketchy. Everyone who reads this I cant image them not liking it!

I initially wasn't sure about this book when I started it, but the characters grew on me and I found myself actually crying at the dramatic finale!
I was tempted to not finish this one but once I've started something I have to finish it. I normally find alpha characters like Maddox adorable but I didn't really feel any connection to any of the cast. Also, too awkwardly porny. You can write those scenes in a way that seems almost artistic, she unfortunately just gives you a really weird play by play.

I wanted to give this three stars, but I think I was just being too demanding. It was a pretty good book. I thought there were a lot of similarities between it and JR Ward's books, but I definitely like this better. I love the premise: immortals who opened Pandora's box now have to house in their bodies the demons they released.
I feel sorry for these guys. They've been suffering for centuries. Literally. The hero in DARKEST NIGHT is murdered every night. Not only is he stabbed six times with a sword, but he's taken to hell where he burns until morning. Ouch.
The thing that docked this a star for me was the heroine. I just didn't like her that much. Also, I didn't buy the ending, that Ashlyn would make the sacrifice she did. I mean, seriously, she just met Maddox, what? Two or three days ago? There wasn't any kind of guarantee her action would actually solve anything. At the very least, she should have done some research. Maybe waited until their one week anniversary, just to make sure Maddox didn't suddenly become a jerk.
I very much liked Gena Showalter's writing, though. Great pacing. Great style.

3.5 stars I liked this more than the first book in the Guild Hunter series but it still wasn't a real contender against my favourite, J.R. Ward. Will continue with the series though to see where it all goes.
Some spoilers ahead:
What I liked:
- the premise that each warrior had a demon from Pandora's box living inside of them (can't wait to read Pain, Sickness and Promiscuity's stories. Also interested in Gideon (the one who cannot tell the truth))
- Black Dagger Brotherhood - kind of setting and overall vibes (Mr. Promiscuity was like Rhage, I thought Maddox was like Zsadist, Pain was like V, for some reason Torin reminded me of Tohr, Aeron of Wrath etc.)
- fierce, protective, dreamy males (despite their aggressiveness, there wasn't any abuse towards their chosen women like in the first book of Guild Hunter series even if being so offended that a woman was chosen to guard the box that they had to open it and release the demons out to the world was a bit wtf. You had the punishment coming for that, guys)
- Anyaaaa was kick-ass character, please more of her!
What I disliked:
- sometimes the conversation between the main characters was soooooo cheesy and the sentences were almost unfinished as if they couldn't talk in full sentences (in throes of passion or otherwise)
- I couldn't feel the love between the warriors like in BDB, sometimes they were outright hostile towards each other
- although interesting, the whole Greek mythology setting seemed a bit out of place when the story took place in Budapest
- I realize it's a series but I felt like some storylines were kind of brushed off too easily, for example, why Ashlyn can hear all the conversations in her head and why being close to Maddox helps to quiet them?
