Had high hopes because of title, summary and cover but was very disappointed. Some nice themes but overall poorly integrated symbolism re: title, lame “plot twist,” and inconsistent/poorly done POV changes.

it was beautiful yet heart wrenching, the depiction of motherhood was amazing. the only thing is the insta love wasn’t my favorite but I got around it :)
I got about six hours into the audiobook and barely anything happened. This is one of those books that is simultaneously boring and trying too hard. What first year university student is that well-read let alone every single person she surrounds herself with also appears to have read every piece of classical literature? None of these characters seemed real or relatable or even vaguely interesting.
Not for me, DNF.

This was overly angsty, the main characters weren’t particularly likable, and all the emotions felt forced on the reader. There was no chemistry between characters and insta-love instead. I finished it because Saskia Maarleveld narrated and my next Libby book wasn’t available yet, but I kind of missed the point of this? It wasn’t awful, I just didn’t enjoy it very much.
