Aaaaaarrrrggggghhh!!! I feel so let down after reading this book, the reviews were so positive. But to me the story was full of the same lines over and over. I eventually I took a break and came back to the story, only to feel the same.

Now it's very possible that I kept comparing this book to Scandal (the tv show)... but I just couldn't connect with this book. It felt repetitive and lacking. Lacking in what I don't know. But my goodness how many times were they going to have the same conversation. Plus I found it creepy that she felt this intense connection with Matt when she was 11. And he apparently felt something for her too. I don't know just weird. Or maybe I somehow missed something.

I didn't find the story or the characters particularly developed. Also the age difference is a bit off-putting. It's not a huge different per say, about 12 years or so, but they meet when she's about 11 and he's like 22 so... yeah.

Why does it feel like the whole tone of the book is that a grown man "waits" for an 11 year old to grow up??Disgusting. Several small grooming comments dropped in the story. Why can't we say he met her once and forgot about her bc she was a CHILD. She literally makes a child bride "joke". He "teases" her that she is "18" and she "teases" back that he is "50".

He's 35 to her 22. She was 11 when they met first. He would have been 23. Wtf??

It's like they're approving of grown men thinking of little girls as long as they wait until they're barely legal. Straight to jail.

After thought- "He kisses my cheek in a way that is almost brotherly." Uh. No. They've been banging. There is no brotherly about it.

This wasn't bad (not the best I've read, and certainly not the worst). A lot of steam in the novel, but not much substance, however, at the time this was exactly that I needed to stop my reading slump.

It's so cute it even matters that nothing happens...nothing at all...

I liked it. Wasn't love but I liked the writing and the characters.

I really enjoyed reading this to escape the crappy elections. This is a sexy political romance that hooks you from the prologue. My first Katy Evans book and it will not be my last. I can not wait for the next installment in the White House series. Definitely a must read!!

I was really, really surprised by this book. I didn't expect it to be this good. It had a very non-toxic relationship, which we love, strong characters and an interesting plot. This is the only romance book which I have awarded 4 starts, so I really hope the sequel lives up to my expectations.

Politics has never been so good.

I don't normally buy a book if it's not on Kindle Unlimited, I don't normally like to read about politics. This book however changes all that.
Through it all I don't know if I am cheering for Matt to win the election or if I want him and Charlotte to be together.
