The author: “Our accommodation for the night has come courtesy of a website called WarmShowers.org. I’ll admit that the name sounds a bit dodgy. It is not actually a soft-porn site.” (Page 54)
Also the author: The name of this bike tour through the United States shall be “Fifty Shades of the USA”.

This was such a joy to listen to (I opted for audiobook). Would thoroughly recommend for the armchair traveller who can't get out on adventures and also would like to hear about all the wonderful kind human nature still out there in the world. Thanks Anna for sharing your story
I can’t help but love Anna’s adventures and joyful enthusiasm, especially « reading » these as audio books. Sadly the ending, which is the most recently consumed portion as I write the review, felt weak/forced. I enjoyed all the adventures so much more than the « I need to make a point here » wrap up. But endings are hard to all kinds of authors. I also quite prefer the original(?) title which is what the audio edition I got was under - as pictured on the cover of this ‘edition’ - The United States of Adventure. This other title, 50 Shades of the USA is just gross? Weird? Aligns the book with an anti-strong woman pop culture phenomenon? Is totally inappropriate to the author and the contents? Makes no sense for the target audience?
