I cannot stress how long I’ve waited for this book. And Carter Freaking Dominik did not disappoint. There were so many paths Brittney could have taken with this book and the one she chose was so far out of left field, but it ended up being the perfect plot for such a mysterious character. It spanned over a decade and shed some light on past situations from new perspectives. It was well written and thought out. This will definitely be on my list of favorite books this year.

Carter Dominik has been the villain, he’s been the devil, he’s been the vigilante out for justice, he’s also been the hero and the leader of a talented security group, but the one thing Carter Dominik has never been is vulnerable. His character arc was surprising and interesting and beautiful. He went from devoted husband who sacrificed his own dreams for someone who, in my opinion, didn’t deserve it, to one of the world’s most wanted criminals, and it was Diana who brought him back to the man he always should have been.

I know Brittney hinted at several other leading ladies for Carter over the years, but Diana was the perfect choice. He needed someone who knew him “before” and saw beneath the wolf’s clothing he wore. Diana was strong and intelligent and Carter needed that. He needed someone who could accept all parts of him, even if they didn’t necessarily agree with some things. He needed someone who made him better without trying to change him. And Diana was all those things.

I loved the plot line and the suspense. The action and the adventure. Brittney has a way of writing that just draws me in and I feel like I can never get enough. This book was almost 700 pages and I still felt like I could read 700 more. The way she adds cameos of past characters from other series is so insightful. I love how all her series’s connect. And while Carter and Diana got their HEA, this did end on a bit of a cliffhanger for Mya and Oliver, and I can’t believe I have to wait until July to see how it plays out!

Brittney Sahin hit it out of the park with this one! I was eagerly awaiting Carter's story since he made his first appearance in Chasing Fortune and Brittney did not disappoint. Carter is mysterious and dark. You just know that he has hidden depths that captivate any reader. At first, I was a little bummed that Carter and Gwen didn't happen, but Diana was a good choice for Carter. Plus, I still got my age gap romance.

I loved everything about this book. It was chock full of intrigue and suspense with a lot of spice and chemistry between Carter and Diana. One of the things I like about Brittney Sahin's books is that her female characters are always strong, smart, independent women who help to "save" themselves. Diana was no different. She is a genius scientist who can also kick butt when needed. Her loyalty to Carter was steadfast even in the face of her family and friends' criticism. The Devil and the Angel were destined to be together.

The Fallen One is definitely earning a place as one of my favorites. I highly recommend it!
