I like this one. Very straightforward. It also hits home on parts of my past.

I am honoured to have read such personal poetry from Campbell, so this review is strictly based on my own preference of poetry delivery, and not intended to offend or discuss the importance of its content. Personally, I found the delivery to be quite amateur, reminiscent of Rupi Kaur (if Kaur was in grade 10). The poetry was more akin to prose, and not like art. I did, however, like the idea of the timestamps and the symbolism of the time in different stages of her loss, grievance, acceptance, and recovery.

TLDR: Did not make much of an impression, but did not dislike it.

Take a shot every time “heart” is written.

This was a solid three stars because I did enjoy the poems, though not all of them. But then came the last sentence and I had to lower it because what bullshit.

'And you need to understand that you must first love yourself before allowing another person to do so.'

Look, I didn’t like it. It wasn’t the worst thing, like there was an couple poems I liked at the start, but in the end it’s generic. I didn’t care and found myself wanting to just be done with it.
