Another awesome fairytale mash up from Adam Gidwitz. He is such a literary genius with the way that he was able to weave various stories from different sources into one seamless tale.

I fell in love with A Tale Dark and Grimm. I like this one too but it first book was much better. Although I love how the author wound all the fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and folk tales together to create an interesting story I don't think the plot line was as strong as it was in the A tale dark and Grimm.

I met Adam Gidwitz. Yes, I'm bragging, yes, he was great. Super cute (which never hurts), very funny, and an engaging speaker who was both entertaining for adults and perfect for kids. I think that Adam Gidwitz must be the perfect mix of grownup and child. I'm not explaining it well, but when you read his books, you know what I mean. His books are wonderful stories about childhood, with enough gore and horror to satisfy even the most bloody-minded of us, and enough truth to make me cry. When he signed my copy of this book after a nice chat about how his first book made me cry, he wrote that he hoped this book made me cry too. He succeeded. I laughed, I cried, I was grossed out, I was nervous, I loved the whole thing. I'm so glad that Adam Gidwitz started writing books.

Good 4-6 book for big imaginations and strong stomachs

Lacks a little bit of the charm of the first in the series but Gidwitz proves in this book that he can create tales just as dark and creepy as the Grimm Brothers who inspire him

I got this book early. Just looked at bookdepository.com and it shouldn't be out yet. No clue how they got the book 20 days before it is to come out.

But oh well. Means I could read it earlier. :)

And what a ride it was, I really hope he will make a third book, because he really writes well, and I love the narration (and it breaking the fourth wall).

I also love how he weaves multiple stories into one big one, where all the characters come together and do stuff. Jack and Jill, only now with more fun and more characters and more stories. :) I love it.

And this time it is a quest for the Seeing Glass. Bringing Jack and Jill to many different towns, creatures and people. And learning some lessons along the way.

I can't wait for a third book. :)
