Fairy tales told in a darker more Grimm tradition that children and adults will love.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, full of dark sarcastic humour & very gory in places and loved the writing style. Made me laugh often & shudder more than a few times. Jack & Jill are great characters and the story turns into a real heroic quest, but what they find at the end of the quest is for you to read yourself, no spoilers here!

Wow.
Just...wow.

Closer to a 3.5! This was good, but not great.

I definitely enjoyed the first part of this series much more, but like his easy storytelling. This one was much darker but also more juvenile, and that disappointed me a bit. There was a poor concept of time and other small details that would’ve made it stronger for me.

I think I would have liked this better in audiobook, so I’ll likely wait until the third one is available to do so!

A wonderful companion novel to A Tale Dark & Grimm. I especially loved the author's notes at the end where he clarifies the sources of the stories he's modified and added his personal twist to. These days, not everyone has a daddy like mine who read fairy tales to me nightly from his Book of Grimm, so it is an excellent way to link the stories for students!

Readers will love the twists on old favorites and will delight in new to them stories.

Awesome-sauce!!! Great moral learned.

This one was fun and gorey

I read this aloud to my 11- and 13-year-old boys. We loved the first, and almost loved this one just as much. Eddie was our absolute favorite, and the relationship between Jack and Jill is just wonderful. Looking forward to reading through #3 with my boys.

Another great juvenile read! Fast, fun with a few life lessons tucked in.
