This is the kind of book you can read the last 200 pages after a few beers. I mean, if I were 20 and looking for love, his golden thews stretching the bow might totally do it for me -- but there are hundreds of books like this one. This is billed as a sequel to Last of the Mohicans and have some of the characters but, eh. It's chick lit. For the first few hundred I was enjoying it as candy, but then -- it was quite clear where it was all going.

Fantastic book. I really like Sara Donati's writing style. I'm intrigued to see how the story goes on and I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series. Also, I haven't read any of Diana Gabaldon's work but reading the reviews here I think I might have to!

If you are in the mood for a long story with many characters & details pick this up. I absolutely loved the romance, the MMC & FMC were both such likeable characters. I suggest the audiobook. The Narrator does all the voices & other languages wonderfully. But this is definitely not a quick read.

A great book if you want an easy to read, escape from reality. The characters where easy to like/dislike and it certainly left me curious about what the next book would entail. I would recommend this book if like me you are interesting in the emerging America time period and complex characters.

Great audio narrated by Kate Reading and I am sucked into the series now.

Into the Wilderness kept me reading. I'm not generally a historical, romantic type reader, but was so engrossed in this book that I finished reading it in a weekend. I'm very tempted to pick up the next book in the series to see what happens in front of some of the others on my list.

I greatly enjoyed this book! I loved the setting and time period Donati's handling of that was superb. Elizabeth and Nathaniel were wonderful characters to read about, I greatly enjoyed their happy moments and the sad alike. I've read one Outlander book and I did catch the reference I also enjoyed that fun bit of writing crossover. Overall a great book!

This is a bodice-ripper, passed off as historical fiction. Might as well have a picture of a swooning lady and a handsome native man clasped in an embrace on the cover.

An exciting adventure story, the author really brings the characters to life and I felt like I knew each and every one. Highly recommended!
