There will be SPOILERS in this review!

Well, this volume is really good. So many great moments and iconic scenes that gained the most attention when the anime was coming out. There are so many great fights in it and so so much trauma for my boy Yuji.

We start with the ending of the fight between Sukuna and Jogo and I love it. This is probably one of my favorite fights. I mean, Sukuna literally tells Jogo that he can be proud of himself (SUKUNA IS COMPLIMENTING SOMEONE OTHER THAN MEGUMI!!!!) and then Jogo cries and it’s oh so good. Then Uraume shows up and Sukuna is genuinely happy to see someone which is just so good.

And then we get to Mahoraga fight which is also great. Sukuna is just having fun during the fight and I’m here for it. Also I love how obsessed he is with Megumi. My man literally limits his attack so that Megumi could survive. And also I love the fact that he kills Haruta because Haruta was one of the most annoying characters in JJK. But the crown jewel was Sukuna letting Yuji see the damage he’s done and then Yuji breaking down and screaming and crying (yes, I was singing Specialz during the scene… yes, I love that moment in the anime, shut up).

And then Nanamin. My man was so brutally killed off (the anime handled his death scene better though, don’t come at me). I feel like his death happened too fast but then again, we do get Mahito and Yuji’s screaming fest. And Yuji’s fight with Mahito where Mahito is like “you are me” and it’s just iconic. But of course, we end it off with Mahito touching Nobara’s face which is just so traumatizing. Why the fuck Nobara? I need answers!!!!!!!

Gege, when I catch you Gege…

Anyway, a great volume. Some of Shibuya at it’s finest. And most importantly, my man Sukuna shines in it which is completely my cup of tea. 5 stars. I don’t care what you say, Sukuna deserves the world and my 5 stars.

OTL i am devastated and it’s still not even over. these kids need a break what the fuck. please let there be a beach episode soon, they need a vacation.

Basically the whole reading experience was just [shrill shrieking internally] which is the best. I love when the action scenes not only tear characters apart but emotionally tear me apart as well.

I will say, Akutami’s art only grows more intense as the series progresses and there are some truly amazing shots in this one. The sense of scale and immense power is really well depicted.
