If "Succession", "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Suits" had a baby, you'd have this book. Wildly entertaining and engaging with larger than life characters.

Fun quick read

I enjoyed this book in such a simple way that has not happened since high school. I didn’t try to figure out what was going to happen before it happened I just immersed myself into the story and witness as everything unfolded. There is a bit of everything in this book. Emotional scenes, little nods to Korean culture, some intrigue and a splash of romance.

Crazy Rich Asians meets Succession is literally the perfect way to describe this book.

I was hooked from the start! I love when humor and wit is infused into writing, not necessarily in the plot or characters but in the exposition and narration. I was guessing until the end and this was the first time in a long time that a plot twist actually got me.

It lacked a bit of substance, no profound life lessons or extraordinary characters but I wasn’t looking for that from this book anyways. I liked that Jia is a total boss, sometimes a little cringy but it was fun to be in her head.

Overall, this book gave me what I came for: a palate cleanser, fun and easy to read.
