Beautiful character development and a beautifully crafted magical world—easy to get sucked into and fall in love with both. Really neat blend of magic and tech, while staying true to it’s soul. Can’t wait for the next book!

I wanted to give this book 2 stars until about page 260. It shifts perspective between 3 characters. I think the king's perspective could have been dropped with come creative juggling with the other 2 perspectives. I just felt like we knew too much information with 3 perspectives that are all closely interacting with each other. Also anytime there was a flashback in the middle of a chapter would confuse me for a minute.

But the climax and ending rounded out good enough that I brought my rating up 1.5 stars.

I saw a Tik Tok about this book that made me want to read it. Catching me with the "two people who tried to give each other the world and failed."
But honestly I got none of that.

The book had some captivating parts. But mostly I was left confused. By the ending sentence which I presume was suppose to be a "mic drop" moment, I felt more like "...umm what?"

I would still like to continue to read more by this author but I think this book was a bit too slow paced for me. I'm still glad I read it and I throughly enjoyed the Indian Mythology and history within this.

Elena and Yassen just seemed....forced. By the last 20% of the book their love trope was thrown in and it was SO RUSHED. It was like Samson didn't even exist which I was not a fan of.
Overall there were moments I enjoyed but for about 70% of the book I was confused and kind of pushing myself through to finish it.
I would have liked to see more of Leo's decline with his power status. And I would have liked more about Yassen. His POVs were quite interesting and his character really started to shine in the last quarter of the book only for it to end pretty quickly.
