The Art of War

Honestly, not a big fan. You can witness the influence of Taoism on him and his philosophy, but it's unnerving to read about warfare as an art. But, it is a brief book and may cause you to reflect if you view this as a way to conquer obstacles in life and those who stand against you...just don't kill them.

to be completely honest, i only read this because i impulsively bought a gorgeous copy. books on war are not for me, but this was actually pretty interesting and had some nice life lessons - at least the parts i understood.

Now I can go to war with the kingdom Machiavelli secured for me and emerge victorious. My heart has never been fuller.

I think I might have actually read a different translation from this, but it was very interesting! I was thinking a lot about medical training and ideas of excellence and knowing when to act and not act. There are interesting similarities between medical and military thinking (even though I hate the military). It was also interesting to read this after the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy, where a lot of discussion is given to strategy and the collective actions and psychology of human civilization, especially in Death’s End.

Cuanta sabiduría tenía Sun Tzu. Libro imprescindible.
