This is a great great series and I would definitely recommend it. The topic is thought-provoking and makes for a very good read.

It’s scary how much this could really be something our society would do. Maybe not this dramatic, but for sure possible.

In the Uglies society, everyone is separated into roughly two types of towns. The Uglies and the Pretties. The Uglies are just normal people until at the age of 16 they get to go through a life altering procedure to make them perfect in every way. Pretties are not only perfect, but have the perfect lives. They party their hearts out, have perfect careers, have perfect friends. Perfect everything. Tally can’t wait until it’s time for her procedure, until she meets Shay. Only then does she start to question her society and what’s beyond it.

I couldn’t put this book down. The ending was also nearly perfect (Pun intended). I could’ve done without the romance, I really don’t think it gave much to the story. Other than that though, I enjoyed this!

2.5?

Look I don't think this review is all too fair, considering I read it with my Year 9 English class, but the writing just felt flat and lacking. The chapters were VERY short, which is good for teaching, but also....get to the point? Also...the cat vomit sky? Really Scott?

I wanted to read this before watching the show.  The book was great.  I wanted a bit more from a few characters,  but I enjoyed it.
