While I am waiting (not so patiently) for the release of [b: Tea Dragon Festival|42369064|The Tea Dragon Festival (Tea Dragon, #2)|Kay O'Neill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1539868119l/42369064._SX50_.jpg|66025511], I have started reading the rest of the books Kay O'Neill has worked on, because I absolutely love their ideas and artwork.

This one is one of my favorites.

A) It is gorgeous. The artwork is simply amazing.

B) Wonderful story. I found it to have the perfect amount of complexity in dealing the family relationships, loss, self growth, environmentalism, love, etc. Complex enough, but not overwhelming.

C) The characters were wonderful. Despite her flaws, I want to be Aunt Mae when I grow up. I also loved watching Lana come into herself as the story went on.

D) Superb message about human impact on the environment and the dangerous consequence. Such messages were worked into the story well. Nicely incorporated so that the message is clear without being too in-your-face, which may have been off putting for some readers. Great balance. I also liked that there was an informative section at the end to teach about coral reefs, the damage caused to them, and how to help. A perfect way to end such a story, with a message of hope for the future.

I loved this book. So beautiful and amazing. Absolutely perfect.

Thank you Netgalley for an e-copy. All opinions remain my own.

This was such a beautiful story. I almost want to cry with how sweet it was and the import message it delivered about looking after our ecosystems, which is something I can be passionate about.
I was so excited to be back in another Katie O'Neill's world after reading and loving [b:The Tea Dragon Society|34895950|The Tea Dragon Society|Katie O'Neill|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1505189639s/34895950.jpg|52579959].
This story was just as captivating. I think O'Neill could make her stories into such lovely cartoon shows, with their piteresque, unique art style and moving stories. They'd reach an audience of any age and make them fall in love.
Again, diversity was amazing, with ethnicities and sexualities, and even in such a small book, its still displayed perfectly.

Pick it up, give it a go and enjoy! >(^_^)<

This book is equally adorable as it is informative. I swear I will read anything from O’Neill at this point and I want so many panels on my walls!!!

Aquicorn Cove talks about the coasts, reefs and conservation of reefs/oceans with these ADORABLE creatures; it explores commercial fishing and over fishing and the damages they can cause to the ecosystem. It also talks about grief in a beautiful way that is perfect for younger kinds who’ve lost someone especially a parent, with an amazing family support laced throughout the pages.
