The message of the book was really important.
Basically, a village near the sea is experiencing more storms that leave a lot of damage to their buildings. They find out that the reefs they have destroyed from fishing were acting as a barrier to protect them from storms, and they realize they need to protect the sea.
It was a commentary on taking care of the planet and not taking what we have for granted. This is such an important message, especially with global warming.
