“Sometimes I feel like I just want to go the sleep for a while, and wake up when I’m stronger or things are different somehow.”

O’Neill’s books are always super cozy. From the comforting, soft art style to the impactful storytelling, their books are always an insta buy for me. A lot of themes of ocean conversation, grief, and how one small change can make a big impact. And how sometimes we need a Lana in our life to help us swim instead of sink. (Also the aquicorns are so adorable!!)

Classical Recommendation: There Will Be Rain - Million Eyes

Amazing art and really important message!

Great characters too.

This was another beautifully illustrated story by O’Neill. This follows Lana as she helps clean up her seaside hometown after a storm and cares for an injured baby aquicorn. It eventually leads to her helping to return the town to the old ways to protect the coral reef and ocean around the town. I really enjoyed this one.

This might sound ridiculous but the worlds that K O' Neil creates feel like a safe place. Opening the first page, I felt my shoulders drop. I love it here. I wish I could live here. Everyone is kind and the illustrations so are charming.

El arte es precioso y la historia fue una muy linda manera de comunicar la importancia de cuidar el mar. Los acuicornios son muy tiernos, por lo que me hubiera gustado verlos más.

Cute. The art is so pretty and the story was very nice. This is a great easy book for adults and a nice way to introduce kids to protecting the oceans.
