This is the third installment of the Bromance Bookclub and while I loved the previous books, I didn’t feel like this one was as great as the other ones. I was expecting a lot for Noah’s love story. I was excited that Alexis was getting a second shot. That these two lovebirds were going to bring it on. It felt a little boring. While the bookclub was always in the back and the guys made an appearance, it didn’t have the same effect on me. The scenes with “The Russian” are the best. I laughed a lot whenever he was mentioned.
It is definitely still worth a shot.
I am hoping that “Isn’t it Bromantic?” Is way better.
Sorry I don’t have much to say about this one, it just didn’t made an impression.
I feel a little let down. The first book was excellent, the second was a light downgrade but still good, this book did not rise to the level that the other two did. The characters did not seem as vibrant as they were in the other books also the motivations of the main characters weren't believable. I'm going to go back and read the first book again and see if it's as good as I remember.
After the first one in the series, I skipped the second book because I refused to touch Liv’s book and my friend picked this one because it had a cat on the cover.
Alexis is a bakery owner who experienced sexual harassment by a famous chef (in the previous book) and is now helping women who were in similar situations. She was accosted by a rando claiming to be her sister, asking her to donate her kidney to a man that’s apparently her dad, whom she’s never heard from in her life??? So .. girl’s got things going on. I didn’t like the difficult position Alexis was put in, but thankfully she had her friend/guy who is clearly in love with her since day one, Noah! Noah does some IT security thing? Idk his entire personality trait was his crush on Alexis. If I had a dime for every time either of them said “what are friends for”, I would be able to afford a Starbucks venti latte (with oat milk).
The book club aspect wasn’t as prominent in this book but it was cute seeing the boys discuss Mack’s wedding and continue to take pride in their book club.
It was an easy chill read but I was never really HOOKED and I didn’t bother with the spicy scenes because the initial words “swollen nub” made me want to vomit. It alternated between their POV but it was still written in third person so that might have contributed to why I wasn’t deeply invested (it’s been less than a week and I can’t remember the third act conflict but whatever, they solved it I guess).
Overall it was okay. I liked the cat.

It's a challenge for authors to keep a romance series going strong, as they have to find a balance between keeping the same feel of the first without getting repetitive or too over the top. Crazy Stupid Bromance is the third in the series, and it stumbles just slightly. The mean rooster from the previous book has been replaced by a mean cat, and instead of an overprotective rich businessman we have an overprotective hacker. (At least he’s reformed.) I would guess this one came during the peak of the Karen discourse online, as a subplot in the book is about a petty neighbor literally named Karen who hates the cafe Alexis owns.
Overall I have no major complaints - the primary plot eases off of some of the heavier topics from the last book, and if I cared less about Alexis and Colton, I think that was far more personal preference than any issue on the side of the writer. For anyone who was frustrated by the tendencies of the women in the first two books to be a little too self-centered, Alexis is the complete opposite. She’s easily the most likable heroine we’ve seen so far. The book is a little light on plot at times, and the big fight at the end seemed weaker when compared to the previous books. But it stayed true to the often corny lessons of the Bros, and is the exact brand of wholesome fluff that the world needs sometimes. If you like the series, this is still worth reading especially because (spoiler!) book 4 is up next and it's one of my favorites in the series.
I paired it with a strawberry daiquiri as the sweetest variant I could think of. This is the perfect book to read on a shady porch on a hot summer day, drinking the pinkest cocktail you can find and wearing an oversized sunhat. I’ll also accept reading it on a beach while on vacation, fully aware it’ll be donated to the rental house’s take one/leave one library at the end of the trip.

Aww i love this book! It made me cry, swoon and laugh a lot! The plot was so good and the characters are just perfect.
I’ve read about Alexia, the fmc, in the 2nd book and I initially didn’t like her because of how she acted towards Liv in the second book. But she redeemed herself in this book. I like her character much better in this.
I had a lot of fun and tears reading this. Love love love it!

I didn't know what this author has against black coffee, but other than that it is pretty good balance of sweet and corny
