Honestly, I didn’t like this book. For such a lengthy audiobook nothing really happened until the last little bit. The narrator’s voices weren’t my favourite and distracted me from the plot of the book. You could probably skip 75% of the book and still be able to read the rest of the series (which I will not be doing).
I really enjoyed this book! I liked the characters and the storyline. Wondering if there is going to be a sequel??
Interesting plot and clever concept. Very mysterious and a clear point throughout.
You know it's a good book when it puts you through the motions and the ending just makes you ball your eyes out! I know that's the reason I loved it so much.

Honestly what a piece of trash. The book consists mainly of Lena's inner monologues and you can skip read 2/3 of the novel without missing anything. After 70% of the book still nothing much has happened, Lena is still busy secretly visiting her boyfriend and occasionally breaking curfew. Not really worth writing 200 pages about. I didn't feel much sympathy for Lena. She acts like a little kid for most of the book and it was more annoying to read. The love story is full of clichés and stereotypes and I am not surprised they declared love to be a disease after reading this.

I’m a no spoilers account but this time I can’t help but a mini ending spoiler… This was an awesome read! I loved the dystopian world Oliver created. The concept was original and thought provoking; Love being treated as a disease and the totalitarianism of the government. I do have to say though that I would have rated this 5 stars if the ending didn’t PISS ME OFF TO MY CORE!!! WHO KILLS OFF THE MMC??!!! This is a series and I won’t be reading the others because I was so invested in the love story and with it ending I honestly lost interest in what happens to our FMC 🤷🏻♀️😭
you tellin' me I gave this book 4 stars but didn't keep reading the trilogy..

I really enjoyed this book. I have a couple problems with this book and why it doesn't deserve a five.
Problems
1. Lena/Alex's relationship was... There wasn't a lot of chemistry between the two which made it seem very insta- lovey.
2. The book felt like it was drowning on around the 60% mark. Like when Lena is having all those self conflicts she tends to get a little annoying.
3. Very poetic. Now I love a good description here and there, but when it is happening at every small moment I get annoyed.
Things I enjoyed
1. The beach scene, and the Wilds scene with Lena and Alex were well done. Lena was really starting to have her own mind in these parts. how fitting.
2. Lena and Hana relationship. Their friendship were my favorite parts, and I was always craving to have a scene with them.
3. WHEN GRACE SPOKE!! That was the best part and a very climatic moment since she was running away. I really hope Grace is in the next book.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book

For a YA book, I found the writing language average. I actually listened to this on audiobook, and while I enjoyed some of Oliver's descriptions, I didn't find her writing particularly extraordinary. I did, however, see a lot of potential in this book, and I think Oliver honored it well. I am especially grateful to see such a popular writer exploring ideas of love beyond just romantic love; there's a good exploration of platonic and familial love, which I found refreshing. I wish we as a society could more strongly acknowledge the various forms and experiences of love outside of romance. I've seen many authors in children's fiction and young adult fiction do a better job exploring these themes, and certainly read better crafted novels, so I'm landing this one three stars.
amazing.. nothing i thought it was going to be. couldnt put it down
HOLY FUCKING SHIT! DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAVORITES ALONG SIDE DIVERGENT
