Set in a dystopian Portland, Maine, love is considered to be a disease and a procedure is performed at age 18 in order to cure it. Thought this was an interesting concept, well-written and enjoyable, but kind of predictable in how the story would play out. Not sure about this being a trilogy (I guess because everything is a trilogy these days!). I will just have to keep reading to see where the author goes with the storyline.

I was intrigued by the unusual treatment of love and the author's choice to have a heroine who self-described herself as ordinary.

I don't normally choose YA books to read but I loved this one. I could not put it down! I loved the concept of love as a disease and how it needed to be cured because at times, it really does get you to do stupid things or think stupid things. I loved the characters and felt that they were really believable. Can't wait for the next one!
