Kind of a mid book, it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t anything special, I think it might be impactful culturally for Japans modern writing, the likes of Murakami, and also for manga because I believe the “slice of life” genre seems quite inspired by this style of novel.

Sanshiro is a boy from Kumamoto who left the town to Tokyo to pursue his study. Moving to big city was a shocking experience for him as the people are so different. The book is surrounded around few people in Sanshiro's inner circle.

This book was written beautifully as others Natsume Soseki's work. Loved it!
