This is a crazy book! I didn’t really know what to expect as I haven’t really read many supernatural romances before! This is fast paced, spicy and full of banter…and I ABSOLUTELY loved it!
We follow Percy Ashdown- an “art historian” or some may say glorified thief, and Joe Bruno- a catholic priest. These guys relationship is brilliant! It’s fast paced, insta-lust to love and STARTS with a bang! 💥
They embark on an international adventure to find the missing sheath of a powerful dagger…meeting an array of obstacles in their way…from zombies, to murderous tasks and handsome bartenders…it is a super fun read and drags you in from the beginning!
The spice and tension between Joe and Percy was portrayed in a tasteful and realistic way, which made the spicy scenes all the more better…maybe not the scene with the body…IYKYK!
The writing style is my only issue…it’s third person…I think it would’ve been better as Dual POV first person- but that’s just me!
I cannot wait for the next installment of these cheeky chappys!!

Having not read any of this author's books I did not know what to expect, but as soon as started reading about Joe and Percy, I read a story that was full of adventure, action and intensity in and out of the bedroom. Joe a Catholic priest has always fancied Percy but has never known how to act around him until he catches Percy in an act that makes Joe think about their relationship. Percy an art historian has always secretly wanted Joe, but due to Joe's career, always thought it impossible.
From the moment their lips clashed together, I knew that Joe was in for an adventure, but not even I expected how full on their adventure would be. With their travels over Europe and further a field we follow Joe and Percy as they enjoy their "holiday", all the time whilst Percy is trying to hide the real reason why he is there and trying not to drag Joe into his other world. Joe whilst naïve in life soon came to realise that everything was black and white, good and evil and his world revolved around Percy. I really liked Percy's character. Whilst he came across at the start as a bit of a cad, as soon as he knew he got Joe, he went out of his way to protect Joe from assailants and trying so hard not to reveal his secret life, but struggling not to share everything with him. There were always good reasons why Percy was doing what he was doing and when the reasons came out. I was sometimes as surprised as Joe.
The addition of the paranormal world made it more intense as they came up against necromancy, the zombies and others that are out to get them. With hints if what may be expected in book 2 I cannot wait to read the conclusion in this series and I am now going to check the other works from this author after I have taken a breather from the full of action read

Wow! This was a wild, kind of unhinged ride and I enjoyed every second of it. I had no idea what would happen from one page to the next, and that hasn't happened in a while. Joe and Percy went from 0 to 60 very fast, but I wasn't mad at it. I really enjoyed Joe and Percy as characters and I feel like there are still so many things that we don't know about them, so it's great that this is only book 1 in a duology.
The book was action packed and fast paced and I kept having to read on to see what will happen next. I loved the banter between Joe and Percy and they made me laugh a lot. I also loved their chemistry, and how they tried to protect each other, and would do anything to protect each other. But as I said, both of them are still full of secrets and I can't wait to discover them.
At the start the book felt a bit scattered and I felt like I wasn't totally understanding what was happening, but as I got to know Joe and Percy and as the story progressed more and more things started to make sense.
If you want a book with a catholic priest, an art histrorian who is also a gentleman thief, with supernatural villains this is the book for you!

I just don't think this one is for me. I love the concept. Indiana Jones vibes, but make it gay. Sounds great! I just don't feel invested in the story and haven't connected to the characters, and I have read 195 pages. I tried, but this just isn't hitting right for me.

Sinful Crimes for the Artistically Inclined by W.H. Lockwood is the first book in the Sinful Crimes Series. It starts with a bang and gets right into all the action.
We follow Joe, who is a slightly tainted sweetheart, and Percy, who is the definition of morally grey. And I'm all there for the tension and banter between them.
We follow Joe, who is a slightly tainted sweetheart, and Percy, who is the definition of morally grey. I love the tension and banter between them.
Further into the book we get to know Althea, and, well, she is something else.
And this book has it all, awesome character-building, world-building that had me feel like I was traveling, and not to forget the living skeletons, lots and lots of spice, an engaging plot, murder and stealing, and demonic possessions.
All of it is blended into a nice mix of uncovering mysteries with reason and crime, humor, romance, and drama.
I loved every page and I'm looking forward to the second book!
