This is a children’s book with a brave and quick-thinking young girl as the protagonist. It was creepy in the best way for me and even as an adult I enjoyed it. I hear the movie is great so I’ll definitely check it out.

Love a story that scares children into learning something, and this story does just that in a creative, unique way.

I “read” this by listening to NYPL’s live reading by Neil Gaiman and others. This was just a fabulous way to enjoy this book. I especially loved Rosario Dawson’s reading. She totally brought to life the story by her expressive reading.
