Nothing like the movie. But if it was it wouldn’t be for children. Very short and fast book but it is a very good read. 10/10

I am an avid coraline lover, and never read the book until now (had the intention though). I really value the ways Henry Selick incorporated some of the dialogue from the book verbatim. They are clearly the same story but both beautifully different takes on it. The original is significantly more haunting, and less joyous fanciful like the movie. Coraline is cynical and incredibly intelligent for a small child. Her personality is much more relatable as opposed to the movie version. Overall I loved it just as I loved the movie
wow. own this book for a long time but actually have no intention of reading it since i've watched the movie already but... nothing can ever describe the feeling i have experienced while reading it. it's definitely far more creepy than the movie even though the movie itself perfectly depicting it.
