it was cute, but it went into a lot of boring details of how each thing is made ( e.g. the crystals, antibodies etc.) which i ended up skimming because, although somewhat relevant, i really didn’t care for them
i liked the world and the different setting of having a human colony rather than a human being dropped on a whole new planet
the romance was nice and Dakas being the biggest simp I absolutely loved
also the fact that Luana was more into it from the start compared to the others pretty cute
not my fav from the series so far but decent

It was just SLIGHTLY slower for me to get into than the previous two books, but still amazing! This series has me in a chokehold and I cannot wait to read more. The bathing scene early in the book had me cackling imagining the struggle of Dakas using a human sized shower and the book gave me all the feels too. Just excellent!

I'm glad Martin redeemed himself, I was worried he was gonna try to betray them

I have been really enjoying this series and the approach the author takes to each alien humanoid type has been novel.

Luana, the female lead, is the de facto leader of her village as her father is incapacitated. When she appeals to Dakas’ people for help with defenses against another people group on their world, he recognises her as his soulmate.

This story is dual POV, well written, and a great exploration of relationship building in the face of cultural differences. I immensely enjoyed the humour in the writing and the importance and engagement of secondary characters with the lead characters as their relationship developed.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
