Den zweiten Teil fand ich fast so gelungen wie den ersten.
Mit haben besonders gut die ganzen Hinterhalte und Verstrickungen gefallen, wobei ich sagen muss, dass manchmal Dinge von der Reihenfolge her keinem Sinn gemacht haben.
Außerdem war es manchmal schwierig der Autorin zu folgen, da sie zwischen den Geschehen auch zeitliche Sprünge sowohl in die Vergangenheit als auch in die Zukunft gemacht hat.
Was mir sehr gut gefallen hat war wie sich die einzelnen Figuren weiter entwickelt haben, wobei ich mir ein paar mehr persönliche Gespräche gewünscht hätte, das kam an manchen Stellen zu kurz.

If it were just a little bit deeper, a little bit more gut wrenching, a little bit more like … Throne of Glass I would have given it more than 5 stars. Just felt the tiniest bit shallow in terms of world building etc but I still loved it!!! Hard to put down and I think I have to reread the last 40 pages bc what? Don’t want to finish the series bc these characters are lovable & I’m enjoying Lia’s journey!!
I completely underestimated this book. I went in thinking that if I didn't remember the first one, maybe it wasn't worth reading, but now I don't see how that could possibly be the case. I can't wait to read the sequel! The only thing that bothers me a bit is the love triangle, and the execution of it, but I can easily forgive that because Lia is just such a compelling character, and I love the way Pearson tells her story. If that requires a love triangle, then so be it. I'm also so in love with the supporting cast, especially the Vendan allies Lia finds. A++ for this one, and I can't believe I was such a skeptic at first.
I could not put this book down, literally read it all in one sitting. Can't wait to start the last book. I need to know what happens.
