Four Souls picks up where Tracks leaves off and with Fleur Pillager heading to take her revenge on the man, Mauser, who stole her land. I enjoy a good revenge story and especially one that isn't exactly straightforward. I was so happy to have Nanapush back as a narrator and getting to hear what he was up to as well.
We are also introduced to Polly Elizabeth as a narrator, the sister-in-law of Mauser, who is a great contrast to Nanapush. Reading this together with Tracks is such a great and fulfilling experience. Both can easily be stand-alones but together are also a perfect pair. Definitely stories I would love to revisit.

You are loved in creation though you tried to destroy yourself.

Erdrich has created something so special in her writing - something that I have sought out time and again but have often been left feeling dissatisfied - that I couldn’t bear to put it down.
Her characters are so rich and full of life, the places they live and work inhabiting my mind fully. And the magic and medicine behind it all is truly powerful because Erdrich believes in it wholeheartedly, lives and breathes it herself, and she makes you believe in it too.

I love these characters and the way the story is told through their different points of view. Fleur continues to be a force. Erdrich is such a beautiful writer. I highly recommend picking up this series.
