Good fluff and engaging story. I wish Goodreads had a 1-10 scale, because I would give it a 7/10.

Camille Pagán has a gift for writing realistic storylines that takes on past trauma and grief but can turn it into the perfect feel good story.
This one is her best one yet and I simply can’t wait for the next book.

Meh. I found it hard to root for Aly as she made very dumb decisions. The connection between Aly and Wyatt was poorly written - she can't stand him on one page and is in love with him on the next. They have no chemistry and there is little/no character development that would show why they are interested in one another. At least it was a quick summer read?

Book 33 of 2023 - Good for You Camille Pagan - Healing Getaway book dealing with faking normalcy and complexities
Rating: 4 out of 5
I had picked this book up after Girl Least likely, but had to keep it aside because of other books pending in my never ending pile lol. I had picked this up because this type of genre tends to evoke good vibes because romance is good, but reading about girl power can be empowering too. I mean life is always filled with challenges, but reading about one girl taking it on, I am always curious about it.
And this book didn't disappoint me there. There were so many layers which got me curious about the main character Aly more and more, and surprisingly even the way it was written felt different, because even though romance was part of it, it didn't take away the meaning and the details of what the author was trying to put in words - that we can be angry, can be hurt or block out stuff, because life is hard, we are all trying to make sense of it in our way, but it is normal, we don't need to fake it to make all the time, we totally can blow off some steam if we need to, as adding layers to fake normal is just gonna make it harder and harder to live- which was little eye opening even though I know that stuff, as I realised it's hard to give advice to ourselves lol.
Nostalgia, sentimentality and love brought the book to life, which was another favourite part of mine.
Some parts felt odd but it felt normal when looking at the grand scheme of things and the ending was satisfying, and I was cheering for Aly for her decisions. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a bit of healing*wink*.

This book was good for me too
I dragged out reading this book for so long as I chose it for my free book with the 30 day prime membership and at the time I started reading around February or March. I had been busy and uninterested but after I reached a little over 50% of the story I couldn’t put it down it is a wonderful heartfelt enemies to lovers romance and includes the processing of grief by the main characters. it kept me on my toes for wondering what was happening. when I think I’d guess it switch around and then be the way I expected it to end and it has been a wonderful spring/ summer read getting me back into the zone for more books to come and meeting my goal for 6 books this year

3.5 stars! This was a quick read! I will start by saying that I really enjoyed the author’s discussion of grief and how it manifests differently for everyone. I think the storyline would’ve made a good movie but also that it felt rushed. This book could’ve been double the length with a little more character depth. Certain topics felt brushed over or resolved too quickly for my taste. Having experienced some parallel but not identical bouts with grief and family turmoil, some of the plot just felt too neatly packaged in a bow BUT the book was still overall enjoyable. It really bothered me that the author used substitute words for swears. I feel like heavy topics should be expressed fully and “ducking” and “beach” just don’t do it for me, it feels immature and like a cop out lol. I do like how the story ended though, I just wish there was more depth and less haste for the finish line.
