This is probably my least favorite L.M. Montgomery. I was taken in by the violin on the cover, but there's not much depth to this book beyond the very simple romance. Charming, but lacks the wit of Montgomery's other work.

In many ways it wasn' the worst book I ever read. I was able to get through the audio book tolerably enough but it was such a nothing of a book. It never really caught my interest and was just background noise. I never cared about anything going on.

Eric is an absolute creep. He wants to control Kilmeny and doesn't even want her to be educated. He only knew her for what? one hour and he decides to fall in love with her because of her looks. And how he thrills because of Kilmeny's innocence? EW.
Lucy, what happened to your relatable heroines? What happened to the flaws that made them beautiful?

Lovely and sweet. I love the last line, which is utterly right for ending a romance, "Eric turned abruptly away to hide his emotion and on his face was a light as of one who sees a great glory widening and deepening down the vista of his future." Wow, I needed this after Jane Eyre! Book K in the A-Z Romance Challenge.

Trochę to było przesłodzone i idealistyczne jednak w jakiś sposób przyjemne i poprawiające humor.
