I was really disappointed in this book. It starts of super slow and boring and there is nothing much happening until half way through the book. While it was nice to see how Lauren and Athur had moved on with their lives after Et si c‘était vrai, I wanted some action. During the whole book we did not really get to see them back together as a couple and the end is super rushed. Especially the epilogue feels like a few sentences thrown together. There wasn’t even an effort to write the epilogue like a part of the story but it was rather just statements saying what happend to wish characters.
The whole plot is over the plot and not realistic (not the ghost part but stealing ambulances etc). And I hoped to see the connection between Lauren and Athur as a couple once more and while they do interact, we do not get to see them like in the house in Camel hopelessly in love like in the first book.

Although a good read, the second half dampened my enthusiasm significantly. I will give it to the author: he kept me glued to the pages and I missed an entire productive weekend trying (and failing) to keep myself away from this book. Unfortunately it did loose a lot of steam and the second half felt short of the start. The first half did a great job stirring my feelings, I could feel Arthur's pain so vividly in my chest it made me sick. But then the humor dampened, the story entered a parallel arc that was too similar to the first novel and the soap-opera moments started bothering me. Although it still made me giggle a few more times, the laughter fits of the first book never returned. I appreciate the emotional writing and think it's the high of the book. I think the biggest fault was that the author opted for a too fragmented story, there was too much jumping around, and too many stupid things preventing Arthur and Lauren from getting together. And then too short of a reunion.
And I would have fired that doctor that nearly killed him, that wasn't even funny.
