It was fine. The moments of just Jamie and Ian and their friendship would have been enough. The actual plot didn’t do it for me.

Short story about what Jamie was up to prior to Claire's arrival. I enjoyed the interactions between him and Ian

Only worth reading if you’re a die hard Outlander fan. It was nice to learn more about Jamie’s life before Claire and his friendship with Ian but definitely didn’t captivate me in the same way as the main series
As a die-hard fan of Diana Gabaldon and the Outlander series, I was looking forward to this shorter prequel. It was fun to read about Jamie and Ian as younger men and to get a peek into their earlier friendship, but as a story on its own it was relatively mediocre, lacking the depth and breadth of plot and characters that she usually provides. ...Also the title makes it sound like a racy paperback romance, which I found somewhat annoying, but whatever.
A tiny little cheesefest which gives you a little insight into the characters of Jamie and Ian. A bit meh, but the narrator was on point.
