While you don’t have to read this short novella to read the Outlander series, it just added to Jamie’s backstory. It was interesting to read about him before he met Claire and all the shenanigans he got into immediately after leaving Fort William.
One scene that left me a little uncomfortable is while they’re in a brothel but I had to keep reminding myself that were just the times centuries ago.
