I loved this look into Jamie and Ian's friendship and some of the antics that they got up to before they both got married off.  This was exciting at times, but not nearly as much as her full-length novels.  I do love that it illustrated some of the cultural differences between English speaking, French, Scottish and Jewish people, even in such a short story.

This was a short read but an excellent story, narration and one of my very favorite series. I love the fact that the author spent time to make it as historically accurate as was possible.

A delightful prequel of the "Outlander" novels. I appreciate the insight into who Ian Murray was before we see him in later novels.

adventurous lighthearted mysterious

Old rereads that need to be listed. It’s 1740 and Jamie and Ian are in France as mercenaries. Jamie meets a woman of ill-repute and Ian is by his side.

Reasons I Recommend:

1) Jamie and Ian bromance begins here

2) Get an insight into young Jamie before he met Black Jack Randall and

3) The start of Jamie’s adventures.
