First time reading this, I gave it 5 stars. Second time, 3/.5 stars so I will average it at 4. I love the unique concept of how this story is told, but think it could have been executed more realistically. I think the notes left become a bit unrealistic with how detailed and frequently they are left. i.e., “I just got home and going to the store, be back in 10” - why not just tell your daughter that? I find it unrealistic it would be left on a note. I think the author could have played with leaving some of the story unwritten and having the notes left to more vaguely imply what happened IRL.

Sad...makes you wanna call your mom and tell her you love her...

This was the first book that got me starting to cry in books. This is an easy read, just note after note after note. Yet it explains so much about the family relationship of Claire, the main character, and her mom. Even though the notes are short, its just simply amazing, please read it (:

A quick read. I liked the different style - just notes back and forth from mother to daughter rather than a traditional novel - but I couldn't really seem to connect to the characters through the notes.

I read it in my english class

The form of this book is what makes it - how often we are just passing through via notes... it struck a chord for moments that must be lived and not lived THROUGH

I wanted to like this book but the only good thing about it was that it was short! I can only read post it notes with someone's shopping list or a teenager asking for her allowance so many times before I go crazy. And then the mom tells her daughter about her health issues...on. Post it?!?!?
