Overuse of “aura” to signify scent was quite annoying among other hackneyed phrases. That is to say, the writing wasn’t great.

Also, I am quite fed up violence in a romance book to build plot and also fed up with a character claiming to be dark because of some vigilante behaviour. “Stay away from me, I don’t deserve your love, because I am bad, and I have done bad things to save women from violent relationships” 🙄

Otto and Raven, the forbidden romance of brother's best friend, who vowed not to cross that line. He tried to fight it, but when in close proximity, everything was thrown out the window.

Raven is an amazing FMC, strong and fierce and so bubbly. Sometimes, it's hard to get a bubbly character written, and sometimes, it falls flat, but Raven was amazingly written.

Otto the big grizzly bear, who outs his family and loved ones first. Love the dark and broody MMCs. The character growth for Otto is great.

I really liked the book, just didn't fall in love with the story. I felt it was repetitive with the inner dialogue throughout the book. I enjoyed their love and the build from going to past and present. I am excited for the rest of the series.

Characters didn’t hook me in and the story wasn’t getting me either, but I’ll try again if the mood for bikers strikes.

We just love a little forbidden age gap brother’s best friend moment. I found myself immediately rooting for Otto and Raven. Their tension in book 1 of the series was nothing compared to this one. Their chemistry is off the charts. They have such a deep connection that they have been fighting for years. I enjoyed learning their backstory through the flashbacks while seeing their relationship build in the present. Honorable mention to this group- the found family aspect is the best. They all truly love each other so deeply. While I enjoyed this book, it was a tad too long. I think it could’ve been just as compelling under 400 pages. This book is perfect for fans of romantic suspense like the Clifton Forge series by Devney Perry.
