Two books in and A.L. Jackson has made it to by auto-buy author's list. I love From Here to Eternity and have been dying to read about Otto and Raven's story since finishing that book and I tell you it didn't disappoint. Love the pining and the tension. And Otto and Raven's backstories are so heartbreaking. I love the idea of flashbacks in this series because you get to understand how the characters have become what they are now because of it. From the start you just know these two are made for one another. And AL Jackson knows just how to tease you with snippets for the next book. So pumped to read Kane's story when it comes out this September.

Raven and Otto's story was a bounce between present and past.  Both had secrets and longing they needed to work through.  Their chemistry had me so curious in book one of the series, and finally getting the details on them did not disappoint.  I enjoyed the development of their relationship and getting a close up look at their history.  Otto, that burly bear, is certainly all alpha man and gritty, but I'd also add he's more poet than anything.  At least for Raven.  And that spice...so good!
As usual there was a crazy couple of twists in this story that I didn't see coming.  I wouldn't say they threw me as much as the ones from book one, but they were still good.  I felt like these came fast, with me feeling more like, oh...than a mind blown moment.  I'm not sure if that's the writing or just the expectation set from the first book's major twist.
Overall this was another fun and spicy read.

This is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone.
Raven and Otto have known each other so long where she thinks he only sees her as a younger sister, and he sees her more than that, but with a promise to her brother, can only treat her as a sister. When Raven decides she needs to move out her brother's house and find her own place, Otto lets her stay at his place until she finds something. Should be fine, right? Shouldn't take too long.
That is until someone starts leaving hate messages on her flower shop door and almost getting attacked at another time. Someone is after Raven and Otto (and the rest of the gang) won't let anything happen to her. But keeping her so close is making it hard for either to keep their attraction for each other at bay.
This hit hard on a few subjects (trigger warnings are available on the author's website) but some sweet moments also.
