It’s a good plot in the standard implausible Reacher formula, but the character’s voice in the narrative seems off. Fight scenes are more cinematic, like writing stage directions for Netflix.
This did not seem like your normal Jack Reacher book, more like when Tom Cruise tried to portray Jack in the movie.
Anyway, the story starts off with Reacher already in a town instead of the norm of arriving and then having trouble find him. While it has a lot of the elements of Reacher’s evaluations and calculating his moves in the frequent brawls and being able be two steps ahead of everyone, the story just did not flow and was had to believe in general from the terrorists, IUD’s, tunnels apathetic or non existent police and general flow of the novel .

Think this is the book that ends the affair with reacher as it were. It's a good book but it's not great like the first 20 odd. Still no mean feat what this author has done. Will read the next ones but maybe with a bit less enthusiasm
I've read a couple Reacher stories. Too much gratuitous killing for my liking. I won't be back.
I enjoyed the first book he wrote with his brother but this one just didn't entertain me. The fight scenes were way too descriptive (not in a good way but almost like detailing dance moves), the plot was muddied at best, and the various characters had little to distinguish them from each other. Not good.
This one is fine, but no more than that. The coincidence that begins the book stretches your disbelief even more than most Reacher books, since he's always somehow walking into major terrorist activities. The plot also gets pretty convoluted.
Once again, it's hard for them to deal with technology. Reacher is famously off the grid, but the world is becoming cashless and centered on cell phones. He's constantly having to say he doesn't know how things work.

Full of padding and endless scripted fight scenes. I think I’m done with this author.
Lee Child and the Reacher series kept me hooked on reading for many years. Even after all these novels I still find myself grabbing the new hard cover and digging in to the newest Reacher adventure. I found this book to be okay. In a first for me with this series I forced myself to keep reading out of finishing the book but not wanting to see how it finished.
The story itself is quite stodgy. There were brief glimpses of the Reacher we know and love but most of the book was monotonous. While I liked the beginning and grabbing the attention the way it did, the rest fell flat for me.

This one is a little different but still an entertaining Reacher read.
