I really struggled with this one . . . it normally takes me a couple of days to read a Jack Reacher novel, but this one took me 13. I've read every book in the series, some more than once, but out of those 26 I've never found it a hard slog.
Difficult to actually pin point why, but it just doesn't feel like a Lee Child/Jack Reacher story. The normal shine is missing and I don't feel inclined to find out what that is, so I think this is the last one, as I wasn't overly impressed with The Sentinel either.
Still, 24 successful reads has to be some kind of a record and nothing lasts forever, so thanks Lee and Jack for all the countless hours of great entertainment.

Not the worst book but not up to Lee Child's standards. For the first 20 pages of so it felt like I was reading someone trying to imitate Lee Child. The cadence of Reacher's speech seemed a little off as well as the action. The plot was so-so and the ending a little out of nowhere. I guess they all can't be five stars.

Not a bad story. More than 3⭐️but less than 4⭐️. I went with 4⭐️ since 3⭐️ would be rude
I have loved the Jack Reacher series until the previous book, but I thought, eh, I will give the co-authors one more chance. But, sadly, going to have to bid farewell to Reacher with this one.
Not the worst Jack Reacher, but not the best either. Some of the thrill and excitement was missing.
This was very good.
It has a great hook and moves quickly through a plot that is one of the better versions of "unreliable trusted character" where you're presented with a person and you're told they're trustworthy, but you're presented with increasing proof that they're not, and it really was hard to tell who to trust.

Another fast-paced, action-heavy entry, this one sees Reacher facing off against a dangerous criminal organization. The setup is classic—Reacher walks into a bad situation and methodically takes it apart—but the storytelling feels a little different under Andrew Child’s co-writing. Still, plenty of action for those who love Reacher in full takedown mode.
It's really 1.5 stars. I think Child & Preston must have had to write this one to fulfill a quantity requirement or something. It was so....simplistic. Nothing like the other Jack Reacher books I've read and enjoyed. AND this one made LIBERAL use of that style that I detest; those constant three word sentences. Over and over again. It distracts me from the story, such as there was of this one.
