There were some bits where I was confused by their notion of honour and chivalry, but I enjoyed it just the same. Surprisingly funny in parts too.
At times long and dragging, but incredibly funny at other times (I love d'Artagnon is having the discussion with his landlord about finding the landlord's abducted wife). It's obvious why this is a classic. However, I have to admit that I prefer The Count of Monte Cristo to this one.

Absolutely couldn't get in to it. It felt like nothing ever happened and I was never getting any closer to the end.
I Don't think i am good enough to write a review on a book like this. I read review written by Mr. Manny saying this is "kick-ass" book. I saw the movie and was not really impressed by it and i started to read this because its a famous classic and i wanted to read something of Alexandre Dumas. So one day after reading Mr. Manny's review i started the book. I read first chapter i really could not pronounce half the words and names and i was put off but i was very stubborn about finishing this book. Then Entered D'Artagnan young, foolish with a very arrogant and egoistic and devil may care and "i don't care even if i die" attitude. I dint like him much, for me he was irritating, but story got interesting so i continued. Then comes Porthos and Aramis ( in that order) i started smiling and GIGGLING (I could'nt believe my self because i guess i stopped giggling in my teens). Enters Athos.... Sighhhh he is some one lets say if i were that girly girl or total lady like or delicate female I WOULD "SWOON".
Now about the important characters and how i felt about the respective ones. The King is good for nothing moron. Queen is suffering damsel, Cardinal is the ultimate cunning cold hearted vulture (yrt you wont hate him) very important and king believes and listens to him. The cardinal hates the Queen. There are two men who king trusts one is Monsieur de Treville. He is ultimate father figure for all the muskteers and backs them up no matter what. And then there Milady ahhh the ultimate Vamp of a women, An ultimate seductress she can get out of any situation with juts by talking or using her body. She loves revenge and she hates our musketeers. WHAT A BOOK.
Its a manly man book(if such thing exists) and all the while reading this book my mind was playing Kick-ass Kick-ass. I marked few pages in order to write in the review i think i will keep it for another day. This has duels, sword fights, standing up for friends no matter who the enemy is with out asking questions (literally)it has young love, cheating, broken heart, loyalty, jealousy, innocence, vamps, beautiful women. WOW how much ever you talk about this will be less than what you really want to talk.
I smiled almost on every page. I laughed when friends lie to cover up their shame. Cheat and use women for money. Have an affair but still dreaming about joining the church and blush about it. OH MY GOD. WHAT A BOOK.
