Great writing as always, but a little slow when getting towards the end. I ended up taking a long break before finishing, but was worth coming back to! I loved the FMC , her kindness, honesty, and optimism were really well-written. I appreciated the respectfulness of the MMC, but in the end he fell a little flat for me. Worth a read!

“He has the eyes of a predator and they are focused on me, and me alone.”

Witch. Lykin. Enemies to lovers. Found family. Protector. Secret Romance. Forced Proximity. You Came/You Called. Female Friendship.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to receive an ARC. This is a voluntary review and I am excited to share my opinion with you.

I have loved every book from the Married to Magic series, but I think this one might be my favorite. Each of the books are stand alones in this series, but this one seems to bring it all together. Also, I love a good wolf shifter romance. I mean they only bite if you ask them too. *wink* This story follows Faelyn, a witch, that feels so alone. She has lost so much, but she’s about to collide with Aurora, a spirit. Now she’s found a purpose and no one will stop her from achieving it. Along the way she meets Evander, a wolf knight, who seems to despise her existence. However….. he’s so much more than that. Did I mention he’s shirtless often?

If you have loved the married to magic books you will love this installment as well. It’s got some mild spice, but yet toe curling. It’s got suspense, twists, world building, and beautiful friendships. You might think you have a set path in life, but not everything I set in stone.

Quote Time:

“Are you saying taking off your pants around me makes your heart race?” There’s the bare minimum of a smirk.

“It will be easier if you hate me,” he whispers, deep and low. “I’ll decide who and what I hate.”

“Hoping for reason and seeing the best in people are hallmarks of a good heart. They’re not a reason to be upset with yourself.”

“Sometimes…getting lost for a while is the best way to be found.”

I’ve enjoyed every book in the Married to Magic series, but this one has been by far my favorite. This story is a second chance at love written so beautifully. I was engrossed since page one.

Faelyn is a weaver witch. As a weaver witch she is tasked with using her magic to protect. She can communicate with the spirits of the land which I thought was so cool. I love witch stories and the way Faelyn’s magic worked was super interesting. She has an enormous heart and she is strong and brave. She really grows emotionally and magically throughout the story.

Evander is a knight in the Lykin king’s court. He is a protector, he’s broody, loyal, and would give his life for those he loves. He also has secrets, many many secrets. We slowly get to see how his walls begin to break down while he’s with Faelyn and how he opens up to her with his whole heart.

When Faelyn is accidentally bonded to Aurora, she is suddenly thrown into a world with magic that she has only heard of and into a court lykin court full of politics and intrigue that she must fight against. The romance between Faelyn and Evander is slow-burning and beautiful. Tears were shed by one me. I’m such a softy for a good love story. Elise did not disappoint with this story. Not only did she give us a beautiful love story, but she also gave us a story about friendship and how those bonds can run so deep. The way Aurora is weaved into both Faelyn and Evander’s lives makes this story so much more complete.

It’s sad that this will be Elise Kova’s last book in the series. Having read all the previous books, it was such a treat when previous characters were mentioned in the story. I’m still holding out hope that she may give us something in the future in which we see all our favorite couples come together in a wonderful celebration of Midscape! I’m sending this wish out to the universe in hopes it may come true.

*A huge thanks to Elise Kova and Book of Matches Media for providing me with an eARC for review. All thoughts are my own.*
