Another beautiful installment to the Married to Magic universe! With this most of the map of Midscape is now clear. However certain parts of the book make me wonder about another installment soon? We will see.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Returning to this world is nice because while it’s a series they are all their own thing. I need to remember a bit about the previous books but not everything. Which is nice when it’s been several months since reading the last one.

I liked the story of a little red riding hood retelling, in which she is not saving Grandma but the spirit of the moon. For a standalone that only has so much time to spend on each scene I was very pleased with the development in character and story. Faelyn is relatively realistic and flawed in her portrayal. Some plot points were easily guessed from foreshadowing but I still enjoyed it. Interested to see if there will ever be a novella or something that brings all the stories together.

Loved the premise, but compared to the rest of the series there was barely any relationship buildup before the fmc and mmc got together. However, loved how the fmc was softer than the rest of the series fmc and lead with her heart and compassion. It’s not as common to find that in a fmc these days and I loved the new take!

thank you so much elise kova for a review copy!
I loved the characters in this book. I found them so well developed and they really carried the book. The plot was very interesting but I thought the pacing was a bit off at times, it felt quite slow paced but also very fast. The spirits included were so cute

This one just didn't do it for me (and I am a Kova stan). I thought the development of the romance was weak, as was the plot, and the world building's integration into the already established world building of the series. It had potential but just fell short of what Kova is capable of. (Also some of the dialogue made me cringe)

I will miss the characters

This book was so much fun and I loved reading it. I am sad it’s a stand alone, because I’m a sucker for a series and I’m in love with the characters! Such a unique world and great plot- I will definitely be reading more
