This was a very hard read as author incorporates real life events in the fictional narrative. But I love her writing style. Even though the content of book is so heavy there is a certain romance and lyricism to her writing.
I also liked how she wove the multigenerational story and how she described Arab beauty, “ Her bottomless black eyes” how poetic.
It is Palestinian story and perspective at the end of day but she treats her Jewish characters with dignity and allows them to be multifaceted.

This is a beautifully written book about the Palestinian struggle. It was a challenging read, but not in a bad way. I want this author to write more books!
