I've put off reading this one for a while, but I wish I hadn't!! I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first, but by 35/40% or so I was hooked. Mera is one hell of a character, she's been through so much, but she's never let it break it. I just have to say though, her and Shadow better be end game, or I might cry lol

Did anyone else find the heroine to be incredibly annoying? The way she talked to everyone was super aggressive and rude. She came off really entitled. She is the reason I stopped reading because I couldn’t care less about her as a character.

This was really well written and had great world building.
Mara is both so strong, confident and not due to past trauma. I hope the next book has more of her fury and her relationships with the friends.

I devoured this book! I loved it! Can't wait to read the next one. It does end on a cliff hanger, but I think it sets it up perfectly.
