My best friend has been telling me to read this series for months now and I've finally done it. As I'm writing this, I'm already almost done with the third book and I can honestly say, I love it. It's a great paranormal romance series. Not a fan of cliffhangers but since the whole trilogy is out, I don't mind them as much. Do I think some of the twists were unnecessary? A little, but overall, it's well written, funny, sexy and really interesting! I recommend if you're into sexy paranormal romance.

Surprisingly good!
I liked Mera almost straight away, although, in the beginning the plot was pretty classic for shifter stories, and thus not that exciting.
But as I said, the FL is awesome with her character, thoughts and actions, I think.
The whole idea of universe-building is sort of interesting, too. I honestly wasn't very well disposed to the ML, his, hmm, form, and the romance (and spice) development. But nonetheless, it's awesome, I think, that there is not one, shifter, world, but several and not simply mentioned, but described and shown.
And of course, one of the best parts is the mysterious issue with the FL (and well, the ML) and hey, THE BOOK is over, but THE QUESTIONS REMAIN
adventurous dark mysterious fast-paced

Rejected Shifter Romance

This was a great shifter romance. Mera was the lowest ranking shifter in her pack because her father challenge the alpha and lost. she was tormented mentally and physically by the pack for years. When she hits 22 and has her first shift into her wolf, she finds out finds out one of her tormentors, Torin the Alphas son was her true mate. He broke the bond, and she found herself taken by the Shadow Beast. she’s able to open up the door to the shadow realm, and he needs her help to do it. There’s definitely an enemies to lovers here and I’m here for it. Amazing book. I’m getting ready to start the second one right now. I’ve gotta know what happens next.

Mera is shunned by the pack that raised her, because of the actions of her father.

She is tormented and bullied by everyone in the pack, especially the Pack Alphas son Torin and Jaxon, her one time best friend. The only person who looks out for her is Dannie, the owner of the bookstore where she works and Simone, who stood by her when everyone else turned on her.

Mera can’t wait until she has her first shift on the eve of the Winter Solstice (they can’t shift until the first Winter Solstice after their 22nd birthday), so she can escape her daily life, but then the unthinkable happens. She meets her True Mate.....

Mera’s True Mate rejects her. When this happens she is broken and howls to the Shadow Beast, who comes and takes her away.

Shadow asks her to help him get back to his home the Shadow Realm. He was meant to ascend to the throne to rule his people, however he was deceived by someone close to him and was kicked out, and a spell he could find no way to get round was placed on the door leading to his realm, and he thinks Mera is the one who can help remove the spell.

Considering the cover for book one, the chemistry between them starts to heat up, however nothing much happens between them in this book.

Yaaasss to the author giving the heroine backbone. Been reading too many books lately where the main character is so overcome with lust that she turns into a fool. Full review later.

I was hoping for more

First let me say this was a good read for the most part. The FMC was pretty funny which was great and I actually found myself laughing out loud at some of her wit, but sometimes she was a little over the top and unbelievable. That’s just my thoughts. The MMC… well I just don’t know. I definitely don’t have book boyfriend vibes. From what I’ve read of reviews, the relationship between MMC and FMC really pics up in book two, but I feel there should have been more relationship building in book 1. I was really let down by that. I’m someone who must have a good love story plot line mixed in with the main plot line and this just fell short for me.

Quite an entertaining story, where shifters meet more than just the regular characters. Mera and Shadow's story begins and the audiobook was very well narrated by Michelle Sparks and Noel Harrison, looking forward to the next book to find more about the story.
