I'm sad that it's over but I'm ok with how it ended. Again it could've been a 5* but I don't like the romance, I don't like Ashlinn at all. And I feel like Tric and Eclipse deserved better. Despite that, it was fun and touching and I loved most of the characters. I liked the ending, I don't think it dragged and I felt it offered the closure I needed.

OK this was my favourite of the three! I loved where Kristoff took the plot. And those last few pages had me in my feelings
2.5 - 3 ⭐️
I reaaaaaally wanted to like this book, since this is the last book and supposedly the one that's supposed to rip your heart out. HOWEVER, I didn't enjoy this. I enjoyed the fighting sequences, the prophecy being fulfilled, the side characters.
What i didn't like:
Tric - he came back for literally nothing. He added 0 value which saddens me because he was my favorite. He was a doormat. And one of the reasons why I hate love triangles is for this reason. He was treated badly and ignored most of the time. He came back for Mia only to be dismissed.
Ash - never liked her, never will. Her relationship with Mia didn't make sense to me imo. I really tried liking her, but I couldn't. And in this book? My dislike for her was set - she was really annoying. And her jabs at Tric? Also didn't make sense to me. Like zero remorse for what she did, except for the last bit where she realized what she did was awful and started crying? Again, didn't make sense.
The ending - ummmm.. I was promised a heartbreak. I didn't get one. Instead - there was some sort of HEA? The whole point on ramping up book 1 and 2 was in preparation for what's to come in book 3. Jay is known for being brutal in his writing, so to get something opposite to what we got was a shock and not in a good way.
Everything else in this book was awesome. I just didn't enjoy the relationship with Ash and Tric and the way it was executed - which took up the majority of the book for me.

A great end to a great series, lots of death and gore, but alas, also lots of repetitions and an end you saw coming a mile away. But it's a satisfying ending, so I can't complain too much about that.
Yeah, the book hangover is going to be real after this.
