Such a disappointment... I gave 5 stars to the first two books, but Darkdawn was stretch to such an extent that it felt totally wrong (100 pages could have easily been removed if you skipped all the repetitions and boring descriptions). I could not wait to find out how it would all end when I first got the book but what a sad way to end such a trilogy. At every plot twist I was hoping the story would go towards a better direction but alas.... no such luck.

I think that this book is a very fitting ending to the trilogy. So much happened and yet everything came together really well. It is a shame about the author though.

Never flinch.
Never fear.
And never, ever forget.

The ending of Mia Corvere’s story has hit hard; it’s been a long time since I’ve been this heartbroken at the end of a trilogy. Darkdawn once again stepped up a notch - horror, trauma and fear taking centre stage for Mia’s last dance. And what a dance it was.

It did not end the way I expected; and there were losses I truly hoped would not be lost, but every story must come to an end.

What a book. What a series.

Mister Kindly will always have a place in my heart - in fact, I like to think there’s a shadowcat in me sarcastically commenting on my everyday decisions.

I took my time reading this book because The Nevernight Chronicles is my favorite series and I wasn’t ready for it to end. I laughed, I got teary eyed, and I almost threw the book across the room in anger. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.

4.75

I have no words. This was beautiful and heartbreaking and everything I wanted it to be.
