This book is so cute !! It was an easy read with such a cute couple at the centre of the story. Love the duel POV but find it hard when both sides are 3rd person however i really like Painters writing and paise in this book ! Overall nice fun lighthearted friends to lovers !!

Mix of 2 tropes is kind of too much.

dnf’d around 85% but still a 3.5 ⭐️

Lynn Painter is just the best at writing banter and the queen of romcoms (her books have the feel of an early 2000s romcom movie).

The premise of this book is so fun - a one night stand that unintentionally results in the two becoming best friends. They end up trying to help each other date and find “the one”. The story is told with lots of humor and tension as their friendship grows.

The last third of the book, as the characters realize their feelings, it felt like their relationship became purely physical - pretty much a friends-with-benefits situation. Personally, I just prefer love stories that have a stronger focus on the emotional connection, so this one wasn’t for me.

This author will probably always be an automatic read though because her writing and humor are just so good. But I’d recommend her YA books over her adult ones any day!!

I had high expectations for this book since I liked the first book, but it fell short. Something about pretending-to-be-in-a-relationship-even-though-there-is-obvious-attraction irks me. I think it is because both characters were older than Olivia in the first book, but they were acting like teenagers. Overall it was alright, but I wouldn't reach for it to re-read.

I was shocked at how choppy this book was written after reading Mr Wrong Number. The story just felt very rushed and under developed. Boring/bland

In typical Lynn Painter fashion, this was a perfect rom com read.

* friends to lovers
* he falls first
* great banter

I was hooked from the beginning meet cute and the chemistry between the two main characters was top notch.

Another great one for me from Ms. Painter!
